Great care has been taken to preserve the beautiful 10 acres the Dar sits on. our little biosphere holds many treasures of nature, some hundreds of years old.
Around the main living area we have the honor to behold the magnificence of 4-year old growth firs and a large cedar patch with 3 cedar rings. These rings are traditionally seen by our First Nation People as a sign of spiritual presence. Trails leading off from the Dar will take you through beautiful scenery including: a pond, a meadow, a bamboo grass lagoon and a fairytale fern forest with sword ferns that tower shoulder high. Moss, wild berries and abundant salal are everywhere. Hidden amongst all this nature are glimpses of magnificent eagles, red headed wood peckers, swift flying king fishers, adorable humming birds, ant hills, industrious spiders, plus a great selection of butterflies, dragon flies and wild fungi that are stunningly beautiful. All this is graced by a resident deer population whose small delicate faces are often looking directly at you as they chew their way through summer.
